Overview

Tamang Heritage Trek is an exciting trek into the Himalayas that offers travelers a peek into the every-day lives of the Tamang people who are Nepalese mountain dwellers of the Langtang region. This 10-day trip begins in Kathmandu with visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Next, we drive to Syabrubesi and begin trekking into the mountaneous region. Throughout our journey we will be rewarded with outstanding views of the Himalayas and get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the Tamangs who live in close vicinity to the mighty Langtang.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu Day 2: Drive Kathmandu-Rasuwa via Trishuli, Nuwakot (7-8 hrs). Overnight at Syabru (Hotel) Day 3: Trek Syabru-Goljung-Gatlang (4 hrs) Day 4: Trek Gatlang-Tatopani (5-6 hrs). Hot bath in the natural spring of Tatopani. Overnight at Lodge Day 5: Trek Tatopani-Nagthali via Brindang (5 hrs). Overnight at Thuman Homestay Day 6: Trek Thuman to Timure and visit nearby historical fort at Tibetan border (5 hrs). Overnight at Timure Lodge Day 7: Trek Timure-Briddim (6 hrs) Observe local culture and Home stay experience. Overnight at Briddim Home Stay Day 8: Trek Briddim-Khamjim-Syabrubesi (5 hrs). Overnight at Syabru Hotel. Day 9: Drive to Dhunche-Kathmandu (7-8 hrs) Day 10: Departure Day
