Overview

Round trip tour of Nepal combines the cultural capital, Kathmandu. Hill station, Nagarkot. Wildlife destination, Chitwan. Land of peace, Lumbini. Tansen-Palpa and lake city, Pokhara.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu. Upon arrival, meeting, assistance and transfer to the hotel.

Rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing

Morning, visit of old Kathmandu Durbar Square also Known as “Hanuman Dhoka” with its stone-paved lanes, colorful bazaars, the Temple of the Living Goddess – Kumari who is considered to be the incarnation of the “Virgin Goddess”.

Continue to Swoyambhunath stupa, situated west of Kathmandu with the eyes of Buddha painted on its pinnacle overlooking righteous behavior of the valley inhabitants. Large numbers of Buddhists and Hindus alike visit Swoyambhunath Stupa. Swoyambhunath is perhaps the best place to observe the religious harmony in Nepal.

Afternoon, visit Patan city, also known as Lalitpur or the “city of beauty”. Visit intricately stone-carved Krishna temple, Patan Durbar Square and Hiranyavarna Mahavihar (golden temple) and many others located at Patan Durbar Square.

Day 3: Drive Kathmandu-Nagarkot (32 km, 1.5 hrs drive)

Morning, after breakfast sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa. Later drive to Nagarkot en-route visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

Afternoon, drive to Nagarkot. Nagarkot is one of the most scenic spots in Bhaktapur district and is renowned for its spectacular sunrise view of the Himalaya when the weather is clear.

Day 4: Drive to Chitwan (208 km, 7 hrs drive)

Morning, drive along scenic mountain highway to Chitwan. Upon arrival, we will be met and welcomed by the naturalist from the jungle lodge. Check in at the resort.

Afternoon, Tharu Village visit. Tharus are believed to have an innate resistance to malaria, and until the 1950s they were the only residents of the formerly malaria-infested jungles, allowing them to develop a unique culture independent from the rest of Nepal. Tharus are predominantly Hindu, but their religion also incorporates elements of Islamic, Buddhist and Animist beliefs, with each village and household having their own protective deity.

Day 5: In Chitwan

Morning, elephant back safari through the jungle to see the Nepali wildlife such as; the great Asian one-horned Rhinoceros, sloth Bear, wild Boar, several species of Deer, rhesus Monkey, the black-faced Langur, the Gaur (wild cattle) and Spotted Himalayan Leopard/Royal Bengal Tiger if you are lucky.

Afternoon, jungle activities including nature walk to see birds and smaller animals, dugout canoe ride to see crocodiles and water-birds etc.

Evening, enjoy Tharu Stick dance or slide presentation on wildlife of Nepal.

Overnight at Resort.

Day 6: Drive Chitwan - Lumbini (175 Kms/4.5 hrs)

Morning, check-out from Jungle Lodge and drive to Lumbini. Afternoon, visit Lumbini garden (escorted by our driver – no guide). Visit includes, the famous Maya Devi temple, Ashoka pillar, holy pond – Puskarini where the Buddha’s mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and other monasteries constructed by different countries.

Day 7: Drive Lumbini – Tansen (109 Kms/ approx. 4 hrs)

Morning, drive to Tansen along a scenic mountain highway. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel. Tansen offers a panoramic view of the high Himalaya. From west to east, the Kanjiroba, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Mansiri, Ganesh and Langtang groups are in sight. Rest of the day is free.

Day 8: Drive Tansen – Pokhara (60 Kms/2.5 hrs)

Morning is free for personal activities. Early afternoon, drive to Pokhara along a scenic mountain highway. Pokhara is famous for lakes and snow capped mountains. Rest of the day is free to explore local town on own.

Overnight at Hotel.

Day 9: Excursion to Sarangkot & Pokhara sightseeing

Morning, drive to Sarangkot to experience wonderful sunrise view over Annapurna range. Sarangkot is a popular destination for the nature devotees who endeavour to make the journey uphill and witness an unobstructed view of the Annapurna, Mt. Fishtail, Dhaulagiri and many others.

Afternoon, commence on a sightseeing tour of Pokhara city and its colorful bazaars. Visit includes Devis fall, Seti gorge, Gupteshwor Mahadev cave, Bindabashini temple.

01 hour boating on Phewa lake.

Day 10: Fly Pokhara - Kathmandu (25 min)

Morning after breakfast at hotel, free time at your own.

Late afternoon transfer to domestic airport for flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu check-in at your hotel.

Rest of the day is free for last minute shopping or personal activities.

Overnight at Hotel.

Day 11: Final Departure

Morning after breakfast, free time at your own.

Transfer to Kathmandu airport in time to connect outbound flight.
