Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in a bid to promote tourist destinations of far western region, is set to organise the ‘Farwest Travel Mart 2022’ (FTM).
According to a press release issued by NTB, the event is being held from April 8 for three days in Dhangadi in coordination with the Dhangadi Sub-Metropolitan City.
The mart is to promote the local tourism of farwest by branding as ‘A Beautiful Farwest: Shukla to Api Saipal’ with the participation of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) farwest along with local tourism operators, as per the press release.
The press statement has quoted Nepal Tourism Board’s Senior Director, Hikmat Singh Ayer as saying that the three-day event will be facilitating business-to-business meetings between tourism and hospitality sector stakeholders of Nepal and India where 40 Indian tour operators from Indian cities of Lakhimpur, Bareilly, Rudrapur, Nainital, Dehradun and Delhi will discuss promotion of tour packages.
The press release has further stated that pavilions reflecting the tourist attractions of the seven provinces, and stalls of tour operators, hoteliers and tourism service providers of nine districts will be set up at the mart.
All invited tourism entrepreneurs of Nepal and India will be part of FTM where they will observe local hotels and casinos, rafting on the Karnali River, jungle safaris within the Shuklaphanta National Park, as well as introductory visits to religious sites.
The Nepal Tourism Board, aiming to revive the COVID-battered tourism of Nepal, has included the ‘Regional Travel Mart’ in its policies and programmes of the current fiscal year 2021-22.
However, the event which was supposed to commence in the beginning of the current fiscal year had to be postponed for several months due to the COVID pandemic.
