Overview

Tent Peak is locally known as Tharpu Chuli and is located in the heart of the Annapurna region. The peak is located above the Annapurna Sanctuary. The name of the peak, Tent Peak, was chosen because of the shape of the mountain peak. You will trek the trail to Poon Hill first for acclimatization.

After Poon Hill you will trek to Annapurna Base Camp from where you will start your ascend to the summit. Tent Peak is a challenging peak but not as challenging as Island Peak in the Everest region.

 

Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu

Arrival Kathmandu; pick up International Airport Kathmandu

Day 2: Trek Preparation Day

Preparations for climbing gear and permits

Day 3: Drive to Pokhara (210km, 6 hrs)

Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara (210 km, 6 hrs) or take a flight (25 min)

Day 4: Drive to Birethanti (2 hrs), trek to Tikedhunga (1450m, 4 hrs)

Drive to Birethanti ( 2hrs.), and trek to Tikedhunga (1450 m – 4 hrs.)

Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani (2874m, 5 hrs)

Trek to Ghorepani (2874 m – 5 hrs.)

Day 6: Trek to Tadapani (2721m, 5 hrs)

Climb to Poon Hill (3119 m) for sunrise, and trek to Tadapani (2721 m- 5 hrs.)

Day 7: Trek to Chomrong ( 1951 m – 6 hrs.)

Day 8: Trek to Dovan ( 2130 m – 6 hrs.)

Day 9: Trek to Machapuchare base camp ( 3720 m – 6 hrs.)
